CLA INSiGHT Thermal Scan
Advanced Nervous System Analysis at Greystone Chiropractic
At Greystone Chiropractic, we use advanced technology to better understand how your spine and nervous system are functioning. One of the key tools we use during your evaluation is the CLA INSiGHT Thermal Scan, a noninvasive assessment designed to help identify areas of neurological stress along the spine. This state-of-the-art technology allows our doctors to detect subtle changes in skin temperature along both sides of your spine, which may indicate areas where the nervous system is under stress.
What Is the CLA INSiGHT Thermal Scan?
The CLA INSiGHT Subluxation Station thermal scan uses highly sensitive infrared sensors (thermistors) that glide gently along your spine. These sensors measure very small temperature differences on the left and right sides of your spine.
These temperature differences are important because the autonomic nervous system controls blood flow to the skin. When a spinal segment is irritated or under stress, the nerves that regulate blood vessels may cause one side of the spine to be slightly warmer or cooler than the other.
By detecting these subtle differences, the scan can help chiropractors identify areas where the nervous system may not be functioning optimally.
Why Temperature Matters
Your spine protects the nervous system, which controls nearly every function in the body. When stress, injury, posture problems, or misalignment affect the spine, it can interfere with normal nerve communication.
When this occurs, changes in blood vessel activity can create temperature differences along the spine.
The thermal scan helps reveal these patterns so your chiropractor can better understand where potential nerve irritation may exist.
What the Scan Looks For
The thermal scan evaluates the symmetry of temperature readings on both sides of the spine.
Normal Patterns
A healthy scan typically shows:
-
Symmetrical temperature readings between both sides of the spine
-
Small temperature variations
-
Smooth and consistent patterns
-
Minimal deviation between left and right sides
These patterns generally indicate balanced nervous system activity.
Areas of Stress or Imbalance
When the scan detects larger temperature differences, it may indicate:
-
Irritation or stress on specific spinal nerves
-
Imbalance in the autonomic nervous system
-
Possible spinal subluxation patterns
These readings help guide the chiropractor toward areas that may need further evaluation.
What to Expect During the Scan
The CLA INSiGHT thermal scan is:
✔ Completely noninvasive
✔ Painless and comfortable
✔ Quick — typically takes less than one minute
✔ Performed right in our office
During the scan, a small handheld device is gently moved along the spine. The device records temperature readings and displays them on a computer chart so the doctor can review the results.
Most patients are surprised by how fast and simple the process is.
How the Scan Helps Us
The thermal scan is not used alone. Instead, it is combined with other assessments to give a clearer picture of your spinal health.
Your chiropractor may combine the scan results with:
-
Posture analysis
-
Physical examination
-
Health history review
-
X-ray imaging (when necessary)
Together, these tools allow us to develop a personalized care plan tailored specifically to your body and your health goals.
