Our office uses the Tytron infrared thermographic system to detect and monitor harmful tension within the spine and nervous system. These damaging stress patterns known as subluxations, affect spinal health and impact overall wellness, and because subluxations are a mostly silent process, these advanced technologies are essential for screening our patients and their family's nervous systems in order to recommend the most effective care and professional advice.
We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your consultation with our office is to discuss your health goals and see if our office is the right place for you. If promising, an examination will help identify the cause of your problem/s.
The consultation gives you an opportunity to learn a bit more about chiropractic. Greystone Chiropractic offers a partnership-approach to improved health and wellness, so it is important that you are comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our practice. The consultation is a great way to find that out.
If we don't think we can help, we'll refer you to the proper alternative. If we agree that chiropractic is the right choice for you, the next step is a thorough examination.
Our patients often comment on how thorough our examination is. It varies based upon what we discover in your health history. Some of the following may be part of your examination:
- Physical: This is a general evaluation that may include the recording of height, weight, pulse, blood pressure and similar measurements.
- Orthopedic: These test your ability to turn, bend and move important joints of your body through their expected range of motion.
- Neurological: We test muscle activity, sensation, inflammation, and other aspects pointing to the health of your central nervous system.
- Chiropractic: This includes postural evaluation, palpation, and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.
- Tytron Paraspinal Thermography Scan: evaluates the state of your nervous system by measuring paraspinal skin temperature, giving an exact picture of how your body is functioning at this moment.
- X-rays: These give us tremendous insight into the state of your spine and supporting structures- the culmination of your health up to now.
Following Your First Visit
After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we'll make recommendations designed to help you achieve and maintain your health. This is usually within one week of your first adjustment; we do this because it reduces the length of your first visit, it gives us time to gather findings and review the best course of action, and it helps prevent overloading you with too much information.
We'll spend about one hour reviewing our findings with you and offering answers to the four questions most patients have when they consult our office:
- What's wrong?
- Can chiropractic help?
- How long will it take?
- How much will it cost?
If you have any other questions, be sure to ask!
Chiropractic care is a partnership approach to better health. Part of your recovery is based on what we do, and the other part on what you do. Dr. Lee often recommends spinal stretches and strengthening exercises to assist in your recovery.
Many people are concerned that every adjustment will be as long as the first two. This is not the case – the first two visits gather and report critical information in order to best set the stage for your healing journey.
A typical office visit after the initial meetings may require just 10 to 15 minutes. With the foundation laid, we can quickly determine what your spine and nervous system needs, adjust you, and get you on your way.
Like a regular workout, each adjustment builds on the ones before. If you miss a visit, we may lose the momentum necessary to illicit the necessary changes. We realize your time is valuable. We will do everything possible to stay on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
